    The staff at the family-run gem are just amazing! They really made our trip special. They always greeted us warmly and were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us book a boat trip. The place is super clean and lovely, nicer than a backpackers hostel but not as fancy and expensive as a boutique hotel, perfect for my boyfriend and me. The location is a short walk from the walled city, but the service is totally worth it, and it's near some of the best bars in the city. Loved it!

    This hostel was a bit more expensive than the others in the area, but I don't regret booking this place at all. It was really nice and just a short walk to the Old City and I felt very secure and comfortable at this hostel. There is a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the hostel as well, where we could eat outside and enjoy the wonderful weather.

    Very nice hotel, but beds are very hard and there is no running hot water in sinks or showers. They did not seem to know anything about minihostels, but honoured our discount.

    I think it was a really nice place, however it just pissed me off at the last day, because I didn't get my refund of one night stay on the last day... really bad... really really bad....

    Stayed at Casa Villa Colonial for a week. Loved it. Great staff, great accommodations, great value. Would highly recommend it to anyone and plan to stay there again the next time I'm in Cartagena.

    This place is great!!! more a hotel than a hostel. Lovely super friendly staff especially Cindy! Very clean, airconditioning plus fan, fresh towels every day, very nice rooms, wifi and internet on a pc, lobby area very nice too, white sofa with reading material, fresh drinks 24h available. If you're looking for a party hostel there are plenty more, this is more of a quite place yet in the a great location, just outside there is plenty of bars, music and fun! Loved it!!!

    Great hostel, hotel. They have three all within five minutes of each other. We stayed at casa colonial slighty more up market then the hotel but worth every penny. Like a hotel experience, clean and service impeccable. They have lots of space to sit apart from your room. The guge sofas and lounge, flat scen tvs, an outside area too. Its lovley and quite. Martha, who i think runs the them and the whole team are lovely. You cant go wrong with thes guys.

    Great hostel for couples. Location was perfect. A little kitchen for chopping up fruit etc for breakfast or perhaps making some cocktails (as we did). My ONLY negative was perhaps the mattresses could be a bit softer. It was a great place to stay and the staff really did well booking stuff for us and giving us information.

    Beautiful premises, friendly staff, excellent service. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but spoiled by rock-hard beds and unpleasant overhead lighting. The location (Calle Media Luna) has tidied-up significantly in the last 3 years, and is convenient to most popular locations in the city. Casa Villa Colonial possibly is the nicest accommodation option on this street.

    A great place, very friendly staff and lovely rooms. Close to all action yet quiet at night. Check out Il Balconi pizza restaurant on corner above Cafe Havana. Also, continue down same side street and you hit the fabulous Plaza St Trinidad, eat pizza and drink beers with the locals.

    great place to stay in. Nice location, very well isolated from outside noise. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lack of hot water in the shower - but it looks like colombian standard! :))

    This hostel isn't bad - decent location and excellent, helpful staff. Like everywhere in Cartagena, it is overpriced for what is very basic accommodation - no hot water, a single light bulb, not very pretty rooms. However, we had a serious problem with the place that really marred our stay. Off-the-street price for 2 nights in this hostel was COP300,000 but the same room booked through their own website was COP420,000 - a markup of 40% for the privilege of booking in advance. Despite our insistence that this was ridiculous and unfair, we were forced to pay this charge. Very upsetting and a downer on an otherwise pleasant stay in Cartagena. Would recommend NEVER booking in advance here.
