stayed in a double here and it was amazing... the room was huge with TV and private bathroom and it was only 40000 pesos for both me and my partner. shared kitchen use, cool hangout area with a hammock! definitely a fun chill place for a couple nights

The staff here gave us a lot of attention, which I always appreciate at hostels. They helped us with directions and always greeted us with a smile. Rooms were relatively cheap and the hostel itself is clean and attractive.

Good: The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The hostel is located in a not great neighborhood, however is very close to the old city so you can walk there without problem. Bad: The staff is quite chilly not as warm as is usual in Colombia.

This place was really wonderful. I felt super comfortable there and the staff was amazing. They also had a great garden this was perfect for sitting and hanging out in. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Cartagena.

Staff very nice but all over the place, it takes a long time for anything to get done/organised. No breakfast, kitchen a little dirty, and they have cats that sit on the couches and groom themselves, yuck! Room pretty clean, bed comfortable and air con is a must!

My friend and I loved Amber Hostel. The owners were extremely nice and friendly. They were also flexible in terms of length of stay and accomodating friends who hadn't made reservations. We left with hugs and good wishes from even the cleaning staff. Knowledge of Spanish helpful, but not necessary. We had a great time socializing with other travelers, but the noise level was not too high. One drawback was there only being 2 bathrooms. One suggestion is that when finding it on the map, don't use google maps, it will only confuse you. Calle Pacoa is on the same street as Calle de la Magdalena.

The staff was friendly, specially Mr William. They didn't have the room for the first reserved night but were able to accommodate us on better hostel (a boutique one actually).

The staff is a lovely family, and they are very friendly, helpful and kind. The hostel is in a great location and perfect for backpackers. Extremely affordable but definitely for someone who doesn't mind roughing it with shared bathrooms and bunkbeds. Hostel is noisy early in the morning and walls are thin, but it's great for getting you out of bed and into town!
